Life is grand.
Happy Holidays everyone! What do you do when you open your gingerbread kit to find all the little house parts shattered? You cover up the accident with pretty frosting and candies!
This has got to be the coolest experience.

The greatest thing about my work is that I’m bound to run into beautiful things! Here are some finds I set aside this week as memorable. I love them all but am particularly drawn to number 3 and 5, go figure.
I watched “Exit Through The Gift Shop” last night. It had such a surprising end! If you like Banksy, or street art, I highly recommend it.

I’m ready for the holidays with these guys!

This collection of items was inspired by the Turbine Chandel Air (No. 2 in the image above) I instantly thought, “My dad would love this!” And then one thing spiraled into the next. If I were to design a mancave for my dad or someone like my dad, It would probably look a little something like the above combination.

Never forget, no matter how overwhelming life’s challenges and problems seem to be, that one person can make a difference in the world. In fact, it is always because of one person that all the changes in the world come about. So be that person.
When I saw this cute pup on a swing, I was reminded of how much I love indoor swings, however, I wish they were used more in public spaces. The last photo is of the swings at Molly’s Cupcakes in Lincoln Park, Chicago! The only commercial/retail space I remember seeing swings! I find them more than a sweet reference to childhood happiness. They remind you to take it easy. Everything doesn’t have to be so serious all the time, which is something I can be guilty of. And now that it’s getting cold outside, all the more reason to bring them indoors.

One of my favorite paintings, completed a couple of weekends ago, Mike says that I subconsciously painted my little Maggie, and after he pointed out some key features like the “eye” the “beak” and little “wing” off to the right, I’m starting to think he might be right! LOL totally not my intention, but then again, she’s always stealing my attention. Here is my little Maggie:

I found a secret garden!
After crossing over Lake Shore Drive, I intended to hit a sandy beach only to discover no sand, just big concrete blocks. I eventually walked my way to my usual beach experience several blocks south, but not before investigating why on earth there was an area fenced off with a rather homely looking chain link fence.
I followed the fence towards the lake until it curved around to an opening! The trash bag really adds to the charm ;)
But then I entered into what seemed more like an impromptu butterfly garden that had grown wild. It was so neat! With an opening on each side of the enclosed space and tiny single path, it was obviously meant to be walked or experienced. So I did just that, and loved every moment of it.
For your viewing pleasure. A 60 second clip of water lapping the rocks just north of Promontory Point, Chicago. Put it on loop and zone out if you wish.
A couple of months ago, my family got together to enjoy some quality “Carter time.” I just came across this photo in one of my albums and thought, “That sounds like so much fun.” I think the most interesting bottle for me, was the Jam Jar. It’s always piqued my interest, but was never able to commit to the idea of a sweet Shiraz, until I realized, my sister would love it!
I think I’m ready for another weekend.
